    Description

Myler Medium Baucher with Low Medium Wide Ported Barrel MB33 - Level 3
Myler is more than just bits; the Myler System is a whole new way of understanding how the bit works in your horse's mouth. Ron, Dale and Bob Myler are third generation horsemen who developed a theory of tongue relief and tongue pressure through training their own horses. Their unique mouthpiece designs and innovative cheekpieces give the rider excellent communication with the horse and allow the horse to relax into the bridle.
The MB 33 is the mildest Myler mouthpiece in terms of tongue pressure. The generously wide port allows room for the tongue to pass almost completely under the bit. Because this mouthpiece does not rotate on to the tongue and the port is wide, it applies little to no tongue pressure, working primarily off  the lips and bars. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 1/2" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Because the MB 33 offers such a high degree of tongue relief, the horse that does well in this mouthpiece has trustworthy and consistent disposition, and is trained to work off the leg and seat as well as the hands. Also known as a "hanging cheek" because the bridle attaches at the purchase, the Baucher is typically used for dressage. The fixed cheek keeps the bit suspended in the horse's mouth and prevents it from sliding around in the bridle, giving the rider more control over the mouthpiece than a traditional loose ring. However, the reins remain free to slide. When engaged, the reins will pull back on the cheekpiece and mouthpiece, as well as rotate the purchase forward flightly, creating some poll pressure. Even though it has a fixed cheek, the Baucher is still considered a direct rein action cheekpiece because there is no leverage or curb action.
    Features:
    Independent side movement
    Stainless steel mouthpiece
    Curved mouthpiece
    Copper Inlay
This is NOT Dressage Legal (the port is over 30mm tall)
    3 1/2" cheek / 2 3/8" ring
    Level 3 :
Performance horse with advanced training and a solid disposition. Experienced trail horse with a solid and trustworthy disposition. Riding in a Level 2-3 curb bit and showing resistance. Curb bits with wider ports for maximum tongue relief, little to no tongue pressure. Uses primarily bar, poll, and curb pressure. Curves to allow more room for the tongue.
    Selecting Your Horse's Myler Level:
Myler mouthpiece designs correspond to the Myler level of the horse's behavior and experience. The mouthpiece levels start at Level 1, which apply maximum tongue pressure and go up to Level 3, which apply minimum tongue pressure and offer the most tongue relief. Most horses can avoid level 1 altogether; its quite possible that your horse can enter the Myler System at Level 2, Level 2-3, or even 3.
